Let’s make good trouble! Pastor Thomas Dixon and Sam Skardon, who was a legislative aide for John Lewis, will lead a candlelight vigil in the church courtyard to honor Mr. Lewis and then we’ll move into the sanctuary to learn how we can continue his legacy.
Speakers are:
John Reynolds, who worked as an SCLC organizer with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and was a lifelong friend of John Lewis.
Will McCorkle who is on the front lines of the fight for just, legal, and humane treatment of our immigrant neighbors in Charleston.
Reverend Adam Shoemaker, Rector at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church and Co-Chair of Everyday People, a movement aimed at demonstrating our collective power through boycotts.
Jazz/Gullah/Gospel vocalist Ann Caldwell will grace us with song.
We'll have candles, but bring one if you can.
RAIN PLAN: The vigil will take place in the sanctuary - without candles!
